Spray Deaerators are lower in cost and are used where Capital is not available to purchase a Tray -Counterflow deaerator. Spray Deaerators typically have less turndown and are less forgiving during operational fluctuations. In addition Spray Deaerators do not meet the requirements of the Heat Exchange Institute HEI as oxygen comes in contact with the Carbon Steel Pressure vessel, resulting in occasional pitting. Spray Deaerator turndown is approximately 10-20% Max Load where Tray Deaerators turndown to Zero. Spray Deaerators will achieve 7PPB under most circumstances where Tray Deaerator’s achieve 7PPB under all conditions.
