HEI
Kansas City Deaerator Company was instrumental in reinstating the Heat Exchange Institute for deaerators in 1989. Up to that date, the latest revision of the Heat Exchange Institute specification for deaerators was written in 1963. Kansas City Deaerator Company, along with Permutit Deaerator Company and Stickle Steam Specialties Co., Inc. rewrote the 1963 4th edition in 1989 to incorporate testing and post weld heat treat along with other items after there were concerns within the industry. To date, Kansas City Deaerator Company has held numerous positions in the Heat Exchange Institute Deaerator Section and has been key to rewriting and updating the 5th edition thru the 10th edition in 2016.

ASTM
Kansas City Deaerator Company was instrumental in updating and rewriting the ASTM PTC 12.3 for deaerator testing. Kansas City Deaerator Company recommends following the ASTM procedures for testing deaerators when ultimate testing performance is required.

NACE
With the concern over deaerator failures from the mid 80’s, Kansas City Deaerator Company has followed the NACE procedures and supports the NACE requirements for deaerators. Kansas City Deaerator Company recommends the NACE standards and introduced the NACE requirement into the Heat Exchange Institute specifications for deaerators.

EPRI
Kansas City Deaerator Company has worked with EPRI to provide technical support for deaerator maintenance and repairs. Specifically, Kansas City Deaerator Company has provided a study to EPRI for Flow Accelerated Corrosion along with deaerator vessel considerations.
